Santa hits Zakynthos town
I'd passed it a couple of times previously but not gone in as I've got lots of Christmas decorations in storage in the UK that will hopefully be shipped over here at some point in time.
However, curiosity got the better of me yesterday & I went inside. Oh what lovely things, it was like a Christmas Aladdin's cave. Trees, lights, baubles & beads, hundreds of Santa's, sparkly things, shiny things, glittery things, musical things, all crying out 'buy me buy me'
So did I buy anything - well yes, I did. I bought a set of curtain style white icicle lights that twinkle on & off which I have up in my lounge window & they look so pretty. I also bought a lovely wooden Santa decoration with dangling arms & legs & a string of tiny wooden pegs decorated with Santa faces, little presents, Christmas stockings etc. I'll use the wooden pegs string to peg up my Christmas cards (that's always assuming that I receive any :-))
Justine & Simon will still be in Australia & are planning to celebrate Christmas, down under, on Bondai Beach.
I've been invited to spend Christmas day with Debbie, one of the friends I have made here. We'll be celebrating with her 2 daughters & I'm sure we'll have a very, very enjoyable day.
Christmas is going to be a very emotional time for me, of that I'm quite sure. I shall miss my family & friends & in particular my ex partner, Tony, who I've previously spent the last 12 wonderful Christmas's with.
Things change in life & you are often left asking yourself the question 'why?'. I've made huge changes to my life & I have to try to continue to move forward.
And, just in case I forget, I will wish everyone reading this:
***A Very Merry Christmas ***

The Christmas shop looks great Sandra would love to have had a noise around it. Really enjoy reading your blogs.
We still have our Greek visitor staying with us and we're really enjoying his company. He has really made himself at home and has got himself a bar job. Our house will seem very quiet when he eventually returns to Zakynthos.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A
GOOD NEW YEAR TO YOU.

I wish it had been open in Sept! Would have bought something for our tree, we collect christmas bits on our travels and have a san francisco tram all covered in holly, a bauble from australia and several from new zealand and singapore. We were hoping to be in nz this year with my brother but my husband couldn't get the time off and now he's redundant so we could have gone! Just heard today that my brother is moving to Brisbane in the new year so maybe next christmas we'll be there but I will miss nz - mind you we could do a stop over there and see my niece who is not moving with them. So enjoy your blog and yes I can understand how christmas makes you reflect. Just now I was looking for christmas tags and found one my mum had written teh year before she died. Even now 18 months on I still get tearful. The tree is now up and Phil has done a brilliamt job and I've made a load of mince pies so christmas is coming to our house at last! Sure we'll catch up on jz but for now seasons greetings.

kaz, you would have loved the shop. Hope you make it to Brisbane & a stop off in New Zealand next year. As you probably know from the blog, my daughter is in Australia at the moment connected with her work but thet are also going to get 2 weeks holiday too. They are planning to go to New Zealand & I can't wait to see their photos when they get back, I've heard it is so scenic.
Have a great Christmas & New Year.
