A Change Is As Good As A Rest

Well folks, change is on the horizon again - now before you all cry out "Oh no is she leaving her beautiful island home of Zakynthos" no I am most certainly not. So what is changing?
Well it's my job. Things didn't work out as hoped with the pool/snack bar & I have left there with no hard feelings on either side which is good. I have waited before posting so that I could hopefully inform you of what I shall be doing next. Well you will have to wait just a little longer because I am starting a 7 day trial for a new job on Monday so I'm going to see how things go before I reveal where I shall be & maybe also how I came to find the job too which has a story to it. Now you are all wondering aren't you LOL. All will be revealed in good time.

Regarding the house saga, the survey found some evidence of damp :-(( so the buyer's mortgage lender have put a £2,000 retention on the mortgage. They therefore asked for a further reduction in the price so that they can afford the repairs necessary. So I have had to weigh up the pros & cons yet again - do I refuse to accept a price drop again & risk losing the sale altogether or do I go with the price drop. I threw into the equation the range that I was prepared to negotiate around & the outcome is that I have taken a further reduction but not quite as much as they first requested. It is a little disappointing though but I have been assured that no further issues will be raised & that the sale will now go ahead to completion. I will be so relieved once they have signed on the dotted line, it has stressed me a little I must admit. It is possible that I will now decide to take up a small short term mortgage with my Greek bank here just to ensure I haven't got to put every last euro down to buy my house here. I want to keep a little capital in reserve for emergency purposes.

I am on my own again here at the moment apart from the dogs, Chocolate & Sindy. As I've already said, Justine & Simon are currently in Australia & now my landlady/friend Sia has returned to Switzerland. This was not a planned return, unfortunately her husband has been taken into hospital there & from what I can gather is quite seriously ill so I am really hoping that he will be ok soon.

The dogs are keeping me company, though sorry to say, Sindy has recently gone blind. She seems to be managing to cope well though as she is very familiar with her surroundings here.

I've popped down to Kev's bar from time to time & his business seems to be starting to pick up. I've already met several people in there that I know from using the message boards, as many are searching out the new bar on their arrival on holiday. I expect to meet many more before the end of the season & some for a second time as they return again later in the season.

Well I think that's about all for now so I shall close & update once the new job is a bit more definate.
