House Sale Completed - Time To Move On

On Friday 10th August the sale of my UK house finally completed as planned & my funds from it will shortly be received here in Zakynthos.

On the day itself I had mixed emotions about it. I've been keeping it in mind as just a house - just bricks & mortar up until now. However, it was also the home where I had lived with my partner of 12 years before we parted & it held so many great memories from over those years. I have taken a huge leap to change my life & I have moved on now but I will always cherish the memories that will stay with me for ever.

I am now starting to get very excited about buying my house here. Not one to let the grass grow under my feet, I have this morning been in to my Greek bank & completed my application for the small mortgage I want to take with them. I've decided to take a small mortgage as I don't want to put all my capital down on the house - preferring instead to keep a little tucked away for emergencies etc. Everything appears to be fine with my application but I have to wait until the beginning of next week to confirm that my application has been approved.
