Spring Update
It's been a little while since I last posted an update so I will bring things up to date. After a wet Winter the weather is now starting to get a little warmer & dryer although it's still quite cold once the sun has gone down. The earlier wet weather had held up work being done on the house build but the last couple of weeks have seen some progress. The tiling is now done & most of the the window frames/shutters have been put in. Here are the latest pictures:
Below - Tiling almost complete - (still to be installed - shower over the bath, toilet & washbasin) the tiles are actually covered in building dust on this picture so the colour isn't clear
Below - 2 views of the living area

Below - Front door & kitchen area (kitchen is much much smaller than I'm used to so I will have to be ultra organised)

The inside painting is due to be started next week & the kitchen & bedroom units should be arriving to be fitted. The house exterior can't be painted at the same time as the inside as any remaining moisture would be trapped inside causing problems later. My builder has said that it will be possible to move in before the outside is painted & that this could then be done around June/July time. Although progress is moving faster now, I am not relying on moving in before the season starts - if that does become possible then it will be a bonus.
I've started looking & asking around about work for the Summer season. Last year I worked in Vasilikos but would like to secure something a bit nearer to home this year so we will see what comes up.
It will soon be Easter (ΠΑΣΚΑ) again (in Greece Easter Sunday will fall on 19th April this year which will differ from the UK) It really doesn't seem a year since the smell of lamb roasting on spits filled the air all over the island. Then before long the season will start & I will hopefully get to meet some of my blog readers once again. Happy holidays everyone & I keep my fingers crossed for good news for the euro.

Have been reading your blog regularly Sandra, you are living our dream! We'd love to move out to the island but, realistically, it won't be until retirement.... Love following your progress - hope your new home is ready soon x
